Fashion Is More Than Something We Wear…It’s Our Identity
The Capitol Couture Blog is dedicated to the Fierce, Chic, and Stylish. It’s for all Washingtonians that think outside of the box and exude their own personal brand through style. After all, we do live in one of the most powerful cities in the world, Washington D.C. My goal is to illustrate our non-political identities through fashion and show outsiders we are risk-takers with style.
This blog is an insider’s look into the Washington, D.C. fashion scene. It not only features current events of D.C’s fashion elite, but it also features upcoming talent in the metropolitan area. Additionally, this blog offers the latest fashion trends and forecasts for D.C. Trendsetters.
If you are wondering who your fellow fashion-lover is, here’s a quick bio on me.
I’m a Marketing and Communications Consultant with 7 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies in Washington, D.C. I’ve had the pleasure of conducting fashion consulting projects for Fashion Fights Poverty (FFP), which is one the largest non-profit ethical and eco fashion organizations in the United States. Most recently, my fashion journey has led me to work with Elaine Mensah, owner of SVELTE, LLC, which is a fashion PR company that provides production, publishing, media services and styling for an array of clients in the fashion, lifestyle and luxury brand industries.
I hold both my Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Marketing degrees from the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
